Our Story

How We Met

Once upon a time Weasel had a neighbour named Henry. During the crazy period that was Covid lockdown, Weasel got to meet Henry's brother as he popped by to have some dinner and pick up a puppy after getting out of hotel quarantine.
That brother was Albie.
The pair met again a few weeks later when Henry had a 30th birthday. Someone might have had a few too many lemonades and was sent home from his birthday early. Albie not knowing many of the others took the opportunity to have a yarn with Weasel and the rest is history!

The Proposal

Annoying Weasel is Albie's favourite past-time and with her 30th birthday coming up Albie had been asking all week if Weasel was ready for her birthday present yet.
One night the pair took the puppies down for a swim and a game of fetch by the lake when Albie asked Weasel again if she wanted her birthday present yet.
Weasel, thinking he was just being an idiot replied with 'What, an engagement ring?', to which Albie responded by pulling out of his pocket... an engagement ring.

Wedding Party

Lori Calkin

Lori and Weasel have known each other since their uni days. Weasel introduced Lori to the family once, and she's been a permanent fixture ever since.
Lori has the distinct honour of getting a job she really doesn't want. A long time ago Weasel made a promise that if she ever got married Lori would be Maid of Honour, just so she would have to wear a dress and make a speech. It's been a few years, but it's finally happening. Sorry, not sorry Lorz!

Dallas Rice

Dallas clearly has a lot of patience.
Being the kind friend he was, he used to pick Albie up for High School each day. Albie returned the favour by making sure he was in the shower most days when Dallas showed up.
How Dallas has put up with him this long we'll never know.

Pip Pescini

As a small child, Pip always wanted her parents to get her a puppy. She was decidedly unimpressed when they gave her a sister, Weasel, instead.
It's been thirty years, but Weasel's pretty sure Pip's still holding a grudge against her for that.

Nathan Holmes

Albie has always had a clear sense of right and wrong, even as a small child.
Nathan (aged 9) had recently moved from the UK to NZ, and rocked up to primary school with a bag of lollies, ready to make friends. Unfortunately for Nathan he was met by Albie, who told him in no uncertain terms that lollies were not allowed at school. This was no skin off Nathan's nose though, he didn't have any silly lollies; he had sweets!

Tamiya Callander

Tamiya, or Tids, as she's more commonly known, met Weasel whilst working at Cupcake Sweeties. They bonded over baking and a dislike of stupid people.
If Albie or Tamiya's husband, Jason, ever suddenly die, it was definitely old age, and neither Weasel or Tamiya  know where the bodies are.

Jared Crowley

Jared and Albie are the proud co-owners of Lakeside Stabilisation, and love any opportunity to get together for a ‘business meeting’.
If you spend much time around this pair, you’ll no doubt end up hearing a yarn involving Heidi and Paula; their favourite pair of girls. Fortunately for Holly & Weasel the boys haven’t strayed. Heidi and Paula are actually Heidi the Hydro-seeder and Paula the pump!

Jasmyn Ireton

As well as being Weasel’s cousin, Jas is a younger, blonder, but equally accident prone version of Weasel.
Jas and Weasel have had many an adventure touring round NZ (and occasionally overseas) and somehow both came home in one piece. Surprising really, cause you know the old saying about the blind leading the blind, well with these two, it's the blonde leading the blonde.

Andrew Clee

Andrew and Albie met nearly a decade ago whilst living and working in Banff, Canada.
The pair bonded over a love of snow-boarding and partying. Somehow they both survived their time on the slopes and have remained firm friends.

FAQ's

What are we wearing?

We'd love to see our family and friends dressed up with us. We are requesting a semi-formal dress code for our wedding. Please leave the jeans and the gumboots at home for this one.
Also, just a reminder that the wedding is taking place in a paddock, so choose your footwear accordingly.

Where can we stay?

There are plenty of accomodation options to suit every budget.
Across the paddock from the wedding is the Waitarere Beach Motor Camp, with tent sites and cabins available.
Alternatively there are plenty of homes in the area on Air BnB and BookaBach.
If you're feeling fancy and don't mind the 10 minute drive, there are a variety of motels in Levin.

Can we bring our kids?

Kids are welcome to join us for the ceremony, but the reception will be child-free.
If you need help organising child care, please let Weasel know.

Can I bring a date?

We are only able to accomodate those guests formally invited. If you have received a plus one they will appear under your name when you RSVP.

Where are we going?

The wedding is being held on the Pescini Family Farm. Parking is available on the farm, and can be accessed via Forest Road. Signs will guide you to the entrance, directly across the road from the motor camp.

How do we get there?

Unfortunately there is no Uber in this part of the world. Guests will need to arrange their own vehicles to get to the farm.
A shuttle service will be available to drop you home after a few bevvies.

Do we get fed?

Weasel's one request for the wedding was to have a Food-truck, so while there is no formal sit-down meal there will plenty of food available through the night.

What if we're thirsty?

A range of beer, wine and cider as well as non-alcoholic beverages will be available, as well as a few bottles of Fireball on hand for toasts!

Gifts

Your love, laughter and company on our wedding day is the greatest gift of all. However, should you wish to help us celebrate with a gift, a wishing well will be provided on the day.
